Design Ideas and Design Floors

A simple design can transform a standard room into a signature piece. The added time and skill required is made up for by the enjoyment a client gets day after day seeing this highlight piece.

Brazilian Cherry or “Jatoba” in client’s master bedroom.  A 45 degree angle installation in main area with reading room split into four quadrants. A small medallion cut from rift and Quartered Jatoba board. Amberized sealer, waterborne urethane finish in satin.

New Cherry Set Into Old

This photo is a set of stairs being installed at a current project.

The client wanted to remove the carpet runner and replace with American cherry to match their floors and rails. The floors were recently sanded and therefore are very light.
We came up with the above design of in-setting a larger tread. This allows for a reveal or consistent height difference on the sides and front of the tread. The riser is also on a different plane then the existing trim.

Very unique look that provides visual depth and texture. Beautiful!
